Job summary

RK Industries is seeking an HVAC Projects Technician to install, retrofit, replace, start up, and service complex commercial HVAC systems. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Service Technicians, and skilled trades to ensure safe, high-quality project execution.

With 5+ years of experience, EPA 608 certification, and strong blueprint reading, you’ll thrive on our integrated, in-house resources and a company vehicle with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience in installation, service, retrofits, or replacements.
• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications and control diagrams.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification is required or preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and preventive maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, retrofit, replace, start up, and service commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, boilers, split systems, AHUs, MAUs, pumps and chillers.
• Conduct startups, testing, commissioning, and inspections per project specs and manufacturer requirements.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls issues; perform preventive maintenance and quality checks.
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics; complete startup and service records.

What You'll Do

Install, retrofit, replace, start up, and service commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, boilers, split systems, AHUs, MAUs, pumps, fans, chillers, and related equipment.

• Conduct startups, testing, commissioning, and operational checks; confirm compliance with project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls issues; perform preventive maintenance, inspections, quality control, and system checks.
• Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Support inspections, resolve deficiencies, punch-list items, and callbacks, and complete required startup, service, and project records.
• Communicate status, field conditions, and technical findings; identify service, retrofit, replacement, and repair opportunities; maintain a safe, clean, professional worksite.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience in installation, service, retrofits, or replacements.
• Experience with RTUs, boilers, split systems, AHUs, MAUs, pumps, fans, chillers, cooling towers, VFDs, or related systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and equipment documents.
• Knowledge of mechanical codes, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices; EPA 608 Universal Certification.
