B & I Contractors, Inc. in Florida is seeking an experienced Pipefitter Foreman to lead HVAC piping installations on commercial construction projects. You will supervise crews, read plans, enforce codes, and ensure safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of HVAC piping experience with journeyman-level work and leadership skills.
• In-depth understanding of codes, commercial HVAC systems, blueprints, and construction methods.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specs, and scheduling practices.
• Proficient with tools and trade math.
• Ability to manage personnel, allocate resources, and enforce safety policies.
• Proficient with basic computer applications and scheduling or reporting tools (Microsoft Office, ACC, Procore, planning calendars).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in multiple piping systems (steel, copper, HDPE, PPR, etc.).
• Knowledge in pipe welding is a plus; DX piping preferred.
• Hands-on with crew; manage and schedule subcontractors under your trade.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily crew activities to ensure quality, safety, and productivity.
• Read and interpret plans, blueprints, submittals, and job orders to determine work methods.
• Plan, organize, and assign tasks to use labor, equipment, and materials effectively.
• Monitor progress, identify issues, and communicate updates to supervisors or PMs.
• Maintain accurate records including timekeeping, daily logs, safety docs, and labor tracking.
• Inspect work in progress and upon completion for codes and project specs.
• Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to resolve issues.
• Ensure crew follows safety procedures; conduct safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
• Provide hands-on training, mentorship, and guidance to apprentices and journeymen.
• Identify potential delays and communicate them to project management and superintendent.
• Keep job sites clean, organized, and secure.
• Provide accurate projections for job completion with Trade Supers.
