Job summary

The Maintenance & Operations Supervisor within the HVAC Shop at the Richard L. Roudebush VAMC in Indianapolis, IN oversees journeyman-level mechanics and leads maintenance, installation and repair of heating, water and steam systems, excluding patient-care medical systems.

Responsibilities include planning weekly schedules, assigning work, monitoring deadlines, supervising staff, ensuring safety and infection control, coordinating work orders in Maximo, and acting as COR on contracts as needed;

Qualifications

• Five years leading service teams in commercial/industrial environments.
• Five years creating and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
• COR certification or able to obtain COR certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan weekly schedule of shop employees.
• Assign work and manage deadlines.
• Coordinate and control work orders in Maximo.
• Inspect progress to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Maintain safety and infection prevention standards.
• Prepare cost estimates for equipment and services.
• Perform and evaluate staff performance.
