Job summary

Benedict Sales & Service, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC Department Manager to lead our commercial HVAC field operations and team. You will collaborate with technicians, dispatch, customers, sales, and leadership to ensure customer satisfaction while meeting department goals.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, mentoring, and solving complex technical challenges, with close coordination across installation, service, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years direct commercial HVAC experience
• Advanced knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and troubleshooting
• Strong installation, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supervising technicians
• Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, customers, and management
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and support to HVAC field technicians
• Assists technicians with advanced installation, troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair strategies
• Serves as the primary technical resource for complex commercial HVAC systems
• Performs daily field operations and technician performance oversight
• Supports scheduling, workforce planning, and workload management
• Conducts job-site visits to assist crews and ensure quality workmanship
• Reviews service documentation, repair recommendations, and completed work orders
• Develops and implements technical training programs for field personnel
• Mentors technicians and supports career development opportunities
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains technicians as required to meet workload demands
• Ensures compliance with company safety standards and industry best practices
• Promotes a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement
• Works closely with customers to address technical concerns and provide solutions
• Supports department growth through operational excellence and exceptional customer service
