Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Mechanical Systems Technician Team Lead to supervise the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of site mechanical and facility systems on the Tennessee battery manufacturing campus. You will lead a team of technicians, coordinate shift execution, and ensure environmental conditions meet safety and KPI targets.

This role combines hands-on troubleshooting with shift supervision, organizing daily work, responding to alarms, and preserving clear turnover in a 24/7

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level troubleshooting and shift leadership experience.
• Ability to coordinate multi-craft technicians and verify system operation.
• Experience with HVAC, steam, chilled-water, and other MEP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assigned shift and provide daily direction to mechanical technicians.
• Monitor HVAC and mechanical utility systems critical to battery plant operations.
• Respond to alarms, document work, and ensure proper turnover between shifts.
• Coordinate maintenance with operations and approved contractors to minimize interruptions.
• Create and close CMMS work orders with accurate problem statements and actions.
