Job summary

Piedmont Service Group in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Project Development Representative to support outside project sales representatives and work independently when needed. You will help prepare proposals and cost estimates for building mechanical systems, including HVAC and Controls projects, drawing on extensive field experience.

The role involves site visits, scoping work, coordinating subcontractors, negotiating with vendors, and acting as project manager when required.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of commercial/industrial mechanical systems project and/or maintenance experience.
• Familiar with RTU, split, mini-split, ductwork, VAV, exhaust systems, boiler, chiller, and cooling tower technologies.
• Familiar with commercial HVAC design, building loads analysis, control design and control fundamentals.
• Strong multitasking and collaborative skills.
• Field travel will be at least 50%.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication; ability to translate field data into concise scopes.
• Candidates must pass a background check and drug test after a conditional offer.

Responsibilities

• Develop value-based turnkey proposals for small to medium mechanical systems projects across multiple markets.
• Perform on-site data collection, capture photos, and coordinate subcontractor activities for estimating and development.
• Prepare cost estimates including materials, subcontractors, equipment, and labor.
• Negotiate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to form relationships and teaming agreements.
• Act as project manager as needed to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Leverage communication skills to build credibility with internal and external customers.
• Service project bookings, orders, and revenue tracking.
