Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced HVAC & Mechanical Piping Estimator to join our team in Greensboro, NC. This full-time role focuses on delivering detailed cost estimates for HVAC and piping systems on construction projects, working closely with design and project management to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

Ideal candidates will have strong estimation software proficiency, experience with BIM or traditional drawings, and the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating commercial mechanical piping systems.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs using Revit, BIM models, or construction drawings.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Trimble Autobid Mechanical, QuoteSoft, FastPIPE, Bluebeam, or On-Screen Takeoff.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC and mechanical piping systems, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.
• Analyze blueprints and construction drawings to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Conduct risk analysis to identify issues and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and teams to develop project plans.
• Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable prices and contracts.
• Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and technologies to keep estimates competitive and accurate.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and proposals to clients and management.

This position plays a crucial role in our organization, providing detailed cost estimates and technical expertise for HVAC and mechanical piping systems in our construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with our design and project management teams to ensure that all estimates are accurate, competitive, and lead to successful and profitable projects. Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC and mechanical piping systems, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.
• Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Conduct risk analysis to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop comprehensive project plans.
• Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure the best prices and contracts.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies to ensure that our estimates are competitive and accurate.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and proposals to clients and management.

Qualifications:

• Experience estimating commercial mechanical piping systems, including chilled water, steam, hydronic, condenser water, and HVAC piping.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs using Revit, BIM models, or traditional construction drawings
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Trimble Autobid Mechanical, QuoteSoft, FastPIPE, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
