Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Mechanical Construction Estimator with a strong background in HVAC and pipe fitting to join our team in the Gwynn Oak area. This role estimates mechanical construction projects up to $10 million and supports converting bids into proposals while coordinating with project teams.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of mechanical contracting experience, trade school education, a Journeyman license, and deep Baltimore–Washington DC area knowledge.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering office and field experience in the contracting industry.
• Trade school education in a relevant field.
• A valid Journeyman License.
• Extensive knowledge of the Baltimore and Washington DC area.
• Experience estimating mechanical projects up to $10 million.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing your knowledge and experience in HVAC and pipe fitting to develop comprehensive, detailed, and accurate estimates for our mechanical construction projects.
• Applying your knowledge of the Baltimore and Washington DC area to assess project feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Leveraging your conceptual estimating experience to develop innovative strategies for project execution and cost-saving.
• Coordinating with the project team to transition from a bid to a proposal, ensuring all project specifications, requirements, and timelines are accurately captured.
• Using Quote Soft estimating software to prepare cost estimates, and analyzing data to determine cost benefits and financial impact.
• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope, requirements, and potential challenges.
• Reviewing technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate cost estimation.
