Job summary

JT4, LLC in the United States seeks a Maintenance Trade Specialist I (Mech/HVAC) to diagnose and repair facilities, machinery, and HVAC systems, with emphasis on mechanical trades and safety compliance. The role requires CFC certification and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

The incumbent will install, service, and repair HVAC equipment, fabricate ductwork, and ensure proper operation of systems per plans. Some travel and background checks may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HVAC, electrical or plumbing trade training or apprenticeship.
• Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification required.
• Two years of related work experience in building trades.

Responsibilities

• Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
• Dismantle or partly dismantle subsystems and repair with hand tools.
• Replace defective parts from stock and reassemble machines.
• Perform adjustments to ensure proper operation.
• Install/service/repair HVAC systems per refrigeration theory and blueprints.
• Mount compressors/condenser units per specs.
• Fabricate and install ductwork and chassis parts.
• Install evaporator units in chassis or air-duct systems.
• Join tubing or pipes and solder to complete refrigerant circuit.
• Install expansion/discharge valves and connect controls.
• Connect motors, controls, and power sources.
• Install air and water filters; observe gauges and adjust controls.
• Wrap pipes and insulate; replace defective wiring.
• Perform other duties; may require travel to sites.
