Job summary

Air Systems Engineering in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with broad HVAC knowledge to design and support commercial and industrial systems.

You will perform load calculations, equipment sizing, budgeting support, and produce O&M and commissioning documents, while ensuring code compliance and coordinating with sales and project managers.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Three years related HVAC or construction experience.
• Familiarity with HVAC principles and applicable codes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; CAD and Revit a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for commercial and industrial customers.
• Perform load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Assist with budgets, pre-contract designs, and presentations.
• Produce O&M manuals, commissioning and other project documents.
• Conduct site surveys to verify design details.
• Ensure code compliance for permits and approvals.
• Manage projects to internal and external deadlines.
