Job summary

Averro is seeking an experienced HVAC engineer to serve as the responsible engineer for HVAC design at a nuclear facility in the United States. Responsibilities include equipment selection, calculations, and creating design documents, with the duty to review EPC outputs for regulatory compliance and technical accuracy.

• 10+ years of mechanical/HVAC engineering experience.
• Industrial HVAC design experience in regulated industries.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

• Review EPC firm deliverables and internal design documents for technical accuracy and code compliance.
• Integrate ventilation, filtration, pressurization, and humidity control across plant systems.

Essential Qualifications

• 10+ years of mechanical/HVAC engineering experience (15 preferred); at least half industrial (nuclear, power, pharma, chemical, manufacturing), not commercial-only.
• Industrial HVAC/mechanical process equipment design experience; regulated-industry and B31.1/B31.3 exposure.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university.

Bonus Qualifications

• Nuclear industry and nuclear HVAC filtration experience.
• Master's degree in engineering.
