Job summary

Averro is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for an advanced nuclear technology company. The role focuses on mechanical system design, ASME code-based analysis, and contributing to licensing and regulatory activities.

Ideal candidates have experience with ASME code design and strong CAD skills. The position emphasizes design optimization of reactor internals and balance-of-plant equipment, plus documentation and collaboration with vendors and regulators.

Qualifications

• 1-5+ years of mechanical system design experience, ideally with ASME code-based design and analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD (NX, SolidWorks) and mechanical analysis (stress, fatigue, thermal, or vibration).

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize mechanical systems and components, including reactor internals, pressure-retaining components, and balance-of-plant equipment
• Produce design basis documents, P&IDs, technical specifications, and design reports; oversee vendor designs
• Apply ASME BPVC (Section III Division 5, Section VIII), ASME B31.1, and NRC requirements
• Support materials, fabrication, welding, and quality decisions and provide technical input for licensing and regulatory responses

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for an advanced nuclear technology company, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in mechanical system design and ASME code-based analysis looking to further their career in nuclear and advanced energy.

Essential Qualifications
