ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Our advanced nuclear client is seeking a highly motivated System Design Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be focused on integrating and coordinating the work of engineers and system suppliers.

  • Design nuclear and industrial fluid systems and components from requirements through final design.
  • Provide oversight to vendors.
  • Coordinate the review of analyses.
  • Integrate as-designed hardware into the overall system.
  • Identify and ensure effective application of design codes into the design of the plant systems (ASME, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, NFPA, etc).
  • Support planning efforts and maintain schedule adherence for design activities.
  • Help create and manage drawing packages of system designs.
  • Propose, initiate, and oversee testing programs.
  • Generate design packages for systems, sub-systems, and equipment designs.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Engineering and 10+ years of direct experience.
  • Supplier/contractor coordinate and PM experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience in fluid and structural analysis, tolerance analysis, and the ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nuclear energy industry experience.
  • Experience in high temperature and multi-discipline integration highly desired with nuclear handling process systems, fluid systems or fluid system component design
