Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Administration seeks an HVAC Mechanic I for the Facility Management division. The role performs installation, operation, preventive maintenance and repair of Downtown Complex HVAC, refrigeration, and related equipment, with occasional testing of controls and emergency on-call duties.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED with three years of related experience and EPA certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus three years of progressive HVAC maintenance/repair experience.
• Current EPA certification as required by 40 CFR part 82.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, preventive maintain and repair HVAC, refrigeration and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, digital and pneumatic controls and test system performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and related equipment including ice machines and water systems.
• Be available for rotating emergency call backs; maintain basic PC skills for monitoring systems.
