Job summary

Adult Correction in North Carolina is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to join the COO - OPS - Institutions Operations team. The role focuses on journey-level work in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, performing repairs and preventive maintenance to keep facilities running smoothly.

You will work from 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime to meet operational needs; mentoring lower level staff and offenders in hands-on, less technical tasks may be required.

Qualifications

• Documented knowledge of refrigeration theory and electrical control systems.
• Knowledge of centrifugal and reciprocal compressors.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment and controls.

Responsibilities

• Performing repairs and assignments from work orders.
• Performing preventive maintenance per plans and supervising assistants.
• Instructing lower level assistants and offenders in less technical repairs.
