Job summary

Ferrara is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to maintain and optimize systems across our Forest Park facility. You will service condensers, AHUs, chillers, and steam systems to ensure product quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

You will troubleshoot boilers, heat pumps, and HVAC equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support energy efficiency and reliability. Weekend/holiday availability is required; overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 1 year experience with chillers and HVAC systems required
• Experience with SAP or similar, Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding heat pumps and related HVAC equipment
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining boiler room equipment and associated controls
• Experience performing welding repairs and fabrication work on industrial equipment and piping systems
• Experience repairing and maintaining steam traps, filters, strainers, and steam distribution components
• Experience detecting and addressing refrigerant and oil leaks to maintain equipment reliability and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize HVAC systems to support candy production quality and safety
• Troubleshoot and service air compressors, blowers, and filtration systems
• Support humidity control and dehumidification to maintain processing conditions
• Monitor and maintain chiller systems for efficient cooling
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on steam systems and piping
• Conduct water quality testing to protect equipment from scale and corrosion
• Manage water treatment chemical programs
• Inspect and repair combustion components for environmental compliance
• Maintain heating equipment including boilers and heat exchangers
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and energy efficiency
• Respond quickly to equipment issues to minimize downtime
