Job summary

Ferrara in Itasca, TX is seeking a dedicated HVAC Mechanic for 2nd shift, Mon-Fri 2:30pm-11:00pm, with overtime as needed. You will maintain and optimize HVAC, steam, and process cooling systems to support candy manufacturing while ensuring food safety and energy efficiency.

You will troubleshoot compressors, coils, boilers, and pumps; perform preventive maintenance; test water quality; and document findings. Strong attention to safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience with chillers and HVAC.
• Experience with SAP or similar.
• Experience with heat pumps and boilers.
• Experience welding/fabrication on industrial equipment.
• Experience detecting refrigerant and oil leaks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC systems and components to meet production needs.
• Troubleshoot compressors, blowers, filters to minimize downtime.
• Support humidity control and dehumidifiers.
• Monitor chillers and cooling circuits.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on steam systems.
• Conduct water quality testing and treatment programs.
• Inspect and repair oxidizer components and piping as needed.
