Job summary

Baxter is seeking an HVAC - Maintenance Technician to maintain and optimize plant HVAC equipment, ensuring safe, efficient operation. The role involves hands-on maintenance, collaboration with engineers, and participation in safety and quality initiatives.

Candidates should have 5+ years in mechanical maintenance, basic English communication, and the ability to pursue universal HVAC certification within 6 months. The position offers a Sunday-Thursday 7pm-3am shift and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• The ability to get universal HVAC certification within 6 months of taking the position.
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical systems repair, industrial maintenance or equivalent is required.
• Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
• Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Well organized.
• Self-motivated to achieve goals and require little supervision.
• Ability to develop a concept from general requirements.
• The position requires the ability to individually lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• The position requires an individual to crawl in tight spaces.
• Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, reach etc.
• Normal visual acuity for color discerning.

Responsibilities

• Directly supports PMT, TPM, and energy reduction activities through team membership and project work.
• Coordinate with Engineering and perform equipment modifications with required change control documentation.
• Involved in safety solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as lead technician on floor for installation support and training.
• Use diagnostic tools (plc/servos, multi-meter) to troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues.
• Develop standard work for troubleshooting and setups/changeovers.
