Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform seasonal preventive maintenance and tune-ups on residential furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps.
• Complete safety and performance checks, including CO and natural gas leak testing.
• Record system readings and flag worn or failing components for the service team.
• Enroll and renew customers in maintenance and club membership plans.
• Deliver a clean, respectful, and professional experience in every home.
• Maintain truck inventory and document visits in ServiceTitan.
• Collect payments and clearly communicate system status to homeowners.

Description

Shafer Heating & Cooling, LLC has served homeowners across the Hillsboro, OH area since 1985, and we are growing our maintenance team. We are hiring an HVAC Maintenance Technician to keep our customers' systems running at their best. This is a maintenance-focused role built around seasonal tune-ups, safety inspections, and helping homeowners get the most out of their heating and cooling systems. It is also a strong path into full service and repair work for a technician who wants to grow. Hourly compensation with bonus incentive included.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform seasonal preventive maintenance and tune-ups on residential furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps
• Complete safety and performance checks on every visit, including carbon monoxide and natural gas leak testing
• Take and record system readings and flag worn or failing components for the service team
• Enroll and renew customers in maintenance and club membership plans
• Deliver a clean, respectful, and professional experience in every home
• Maintain truck inventory and document each visit accurately in ServiceTitan
• Collect payments and clearly communicate system status to homeowners

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Some residential HVAC maintenance experience preferred; a motivated apprentice will be considered
• EPA 608 certified or eligible; NATE certification is a plus and ties to higher pay
• Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and on rooftops with the physical stamina the job requires
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Customer-first communication and a genuine interest in growing into a service technician
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
