Job summary

SPRING GROVE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT seeks a Maintenance Technician 1 to operate, maintain, and repair district HVAC systems, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment. Minimum two years HVAC experience, a High School diploma, and EPA Type I/II certification are required.

Hours are 6:00am–2:30pm, 260 days/year with a starting rate of $28/hour, based on experience. You will read manuals and drawings, coordinate with staff and contractors, perform preventive maintenance, and keep boiler

Qualifications

• Two years HVAC experience required.
• EPA Type I and II certification required.
• High School diploma required.
• Knowledge of building systems and regulator codes preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems required.
• Knowledge of plumbing and electrical trades helpful.
• Ability to read and interpret operation manuals and drawings.
• Understanding of cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operating conditions for heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
• Assist in determining if outside contractors are needed and estimate costs.
• Perform snow removal and salting as needed for access.
• Monitor control panels and thermostats to maintain temperatures.
• Coordinate with suppliers and purchase equipment as directed.
• Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good condition.
• Install and test new equipment and parts as required.
• Follow safety regulations and district policies.
