Job summary

The New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor 1, G-14, in New York City to lead the Downstate HVAC PM team across multiple psychiatric centers. You will supervise, schedule, and perform preventive maintenance on AHU/FCU systems, pumps, and related equipment, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The role also involves maintaining service records, coordinating with facilities, and reporting deficiencies.

Qualifications

• One year of trade experience as listed in the minimum qualifications.
• Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, technical guidance, and direction to skilled and semi-skilled workers.
• Coordinate activities with facilities and schedule work to ensure PM projects are completed on time and to quality standards.
• Assist with preparing labor and material cost estimates and procurement of materials and equipment.
• Supervise maintenance of AHU, FCU, pumps, heaters, heat pumps, and other building equipment; inspect and repair components.
• Record and maintain written and digital records of maintenance and report equipment deficiencies.
