  • Performs electrical work from service disconnect to serviced units, and may operate electronic data entry equipment.
  • May be required to be certified under Federal, State, or Local Codes and Ordinances.

Removes, repairs electrically operated magnetic clutches.

Maintains, installs, and overhauls refrigerated air conditioning and mechanical refrigeration systems and alters existing installations as required. Checks and balances complete system after installation or alteration and make all necessary adjustments in conjunction with the above. Sets thermostats, sets and adjusts controls and regulators, and adjusts air conditioning systems to maintain air at specified temperatures and proper humidity. Removes, repairs electrically operated magnetic clutches.

Charges air conditioning and refrigeration systems with proper type and amount of refrigerant.

Performs the changeout of the hermetically sealed refrigeration units that he/she services.

Performs electrical work associated with heating, refrigeration and air conditioning systems which they service and maintain from the service disconnect to the units that they service and maintain except in case of emergency, at which time any qualified employee may be assigned to the work. Determines advisability or need for repair or replacement of magnetic starters, run and start capacitors, thermostats, relays, fuses, fan motors, compressor motors, and compressors.

May be required to operate electronic data entry, storage, processing, and/or retrieval equipment as a routine part of accomplishing their normal job assignments.

May be required to be certified under Federal, State, or Local Codes and Ordinances.

Basic Qualifications :
  • Basic understanding of multiple mechanical systems

types: Refrigeration cycle and components, Chilled water systems, Variable refrigerant flow, Air distribution systems.

  • Basic understanding multiple electrical systems types:

High voltage, Low voltage, Variable frequency drives, Building automation controls

  • EPA 608 Certification: Types I, II, III & Universal
Desired Skills :
  • Installation and repair of Commercial HVAC Equipment (Package, Split systems) System, Chillers, Energy efficiency equipment)
  • Installation and repair of Refrigeration Equipment (walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines and small reach-ins)
Pay Information
  • $33.27 - $52.44
