Richland County is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems across county facilities. The role includes guiding subordinate mechanics in the absence of the HVAC Supervisor and ensuring work orders are completed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities also cover monitoring computerized systems, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, and keeping CMMS records up to date while adhering to safety standards
The purpose of this position is to perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems and equipment. The position also provides guidance, instruction, and leadership to subordinate mechanics in the absence of the HVAC Supervisor, and performs related duties as assigned. Work is performed within a general framework of established procedures, with the employee responsible for determining appropriate work methods and task sequences under general supervision. This position reports directly to the HVAC Supervisor.
Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, special courses or self-education that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education or specialized advanced training in HVAC maintenance or a closely related field.
Compensation Minimum: $23.92
