Job summary
RCL Mechanical in Massachusetts seeks an experienced Residential Plumbing & HVAC Working Field Lead Technician. This role combines field leadership with hands-on residential service, diagnostics, repairs, and installations, while mentoring and guiding the team.
You will run service calls and support technicians to uphold quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in residential plumbing/HVAC, strong knowledge of oil-fired systems, and a willingness to supervise while
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on residential Plumbing and/or HVAC service experience.
- Strong knowledge of oil-fired heating systems.
- Willing to regularly perform service calls in addition to supervisory duties.
- Leadership and mentoring experience preferred.
- Massachusetts plumbing and/or HVAC licensing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead residential plumbing and HVAC technicians in field work.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex service issues on site.
- Coach technicians and maintain quality workmanship.
- Ensure safety, documentation, and customer satisfaction.
- Balance field leadership with hands-on service as needed.
- Coordinate with Service Manager to improve efficiency and productivity.

Thisindividualwillnotonlysuperviseandsupportourtechnicians—theywillalsoworkinthefieldperformingresidentialservice,diagnostic,repair,andinstallationworkaspartoftheirregularresponsibilities.
Wearelookingforsomeonewhocanleadfromthefield.Onedayyoumayberunningyourownservicecalls,andthenextyoumaybeassistingatechnicianwithadifficultdiagnosis,inspectinganinstallation,coachingateammember,orhelpingresolveacustomerconcern.
YouwillworkcloselywithourServiceManagertoimprovefieldefficiency,technicalperformance,quality,accountability,andcustomersatisfaction.Theidealcandidateisahighlyexperiencedresidentialtechnicianwhocanconfidentlyperformtheworkthemselveswhilealsoteachinganddevelopingothers.
