One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning Livonia is seeking a skilled Lead Installation Technician to manage residential HVAC installations from start to finish. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience installing split‑system furnaces and central air, with proven ability to lead a crew and communicate clearly with homeowners.

  • 3–5 years of residential HVAC installation experience.
  • EPA 608 certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Own and maintain the hand and power tools necessary to perform residential HVAC installations.
  • Ability to read and understand installation manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of residential heating and air conditioning systems, including furnace and central air split systems.
  • Install equipment, ductwork, refrigerant lines, gas piping, electrical connections, drain systems, and related HVAC components.
  • Install and properly commission communicating HVAC systems, Heat Pumps, and High Efficiency Systems.
  • Complete installations according to manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and company standards.
  • Perform system start-ups and verify proper operation of newly installed equipment.
  • Properly evacuate, charge, and commission refrigeration systems.
  • Perform pressure testing and leak checks on refrigerant piping.
  • Complete electrical wiring and low-voltage controls.
  • Ensure installations are clean, organized, and professionally completed.
  • Lead and direct helpers or other installation team members on job sites.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and explain basic system operation when needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site throughout the installation.
  • Identify potential installation issues and communicate them to management before they become problems.
  • Complete required installation paperwork and documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company professionally while working in customers' homes.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Lead Installation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of residential HVAC installation experience, with a strong background installing split-system air conditioning and furnace systems.

As a Lead Installation Technician, you will be responsible for leading HVAC installation projects from start to finish while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, professionally, and according to company standards and applicable codes.

The right candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, is comfortable working independently, can effectively lead a helper or installation team, and understands the importance of providing a quality customer experience.

Experience with communicating HVAC systems is preferred.
