Chapman Bros in Cranford, NJ is seeking an experienced HVAC Lead Installer to lead residential installations, mentor junior technicians, and ensure top-tier quality and safety.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential HVAC installation experience.
• 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
• EPA Type II or Universal Certification.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work in attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, airflow, and low-voltage wiring.

Responsibilities

• Lead Residential Installations: oversee HVAC installations meeting high standards for quality, safety, and code compliance.
• Mentor & Develop Your Team: guide installers and apprentices to grow skills and stay on schedule.
• System Startup & Commissioning: perform startups, testing, and commissioning for peak performance.
• Be the Customer’s Go-To Expert: communicate timelines, answer questions, and educate customers on their new system.
• Low Voltage & Troubleshooting: lead wiring, thermostat setup, and system testing with precision.
• Documentation & Reporting: maintain accurate job records and material tracking.
• Maintain a Safe, Organized Worksite: keep sites clean, safe, and well-managed.
• Support Logistics: assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Residential InstallationsInstall and oversee HVAC systems including central AC, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits—ensuring every job meets our high standards for quality, safety, and code compliance.

• Mentor & Develop Your TeamGuide installers and apprentices, helping them grow their skills while keeping projects on track and efficient.

• System Startup & CommissioningPerform and supervise system startups, testing, and commissioning to guarantee peak performance and customer satisfaction.

• Be the Customer’s Go-To ExpertCommunicate clearly with homeowners, explain timelines, answer questions, and educate them on their new system.

• Low Voltage & TroubleshootingLead wiring, thermostat setup, and system testing with confidence and precision.

• Documentation & ReportingEnsure accurate job records, installation notes, and material tracking.

What You Bring

• 5+ yearsof residential HVAC installation experience
