R. Poust, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Lead Installer to join our Sparta, NJ team. You will lead residential installations for central AC, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductless systems while maintaining top quality, safety, and code compliance.

You’ll mentor installers, oversee startups and commissioning, handle wiring and thermostat setups, and serve as the customer’s go‑to expert. The role includes ongoing training, long‑term growth, and a supportive, team‑driven culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential HVAC installation experience.
• 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, airflow, and wiring.
• EPA Type II or Universal Certification required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential installations of central AC, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductless systems.
• Mentor and develop installers and apprentices to meet project timelines.
• Perform system startups, testing, and commissioning for peak performance.
• Explain timelines and educate homeowners about their new system.
• Lead low voltage wiring, thermostat setup, and system testing.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Residential InstallationsInstall and oversee HVAC systems including central AC, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits—ensuring every job meets our high standards for quality, safety, and code compliance.

• Mentor & Develop Your TeamGuide installers and apprentices, helping them grow their skills while keeping projects on track and efficient.

• System Startup & CommissioningPerform and supervise system startups, testing, and commissioning to guarantee peak performance and customer satisfaction.

• Be the Customer’s Go-To ExpertCommunicate clearly with homeowners, explain timelines, answer questions, and educate them on their new system.

• Low Voltage & TroubleshootingLead wiring, thermostat setup, and system testing with confidence and precision.

• Documentation & ReportingEnsure accurate job records, installation notes, and material tracking.

• Maintain a Safe, Organized WorksiteKeep job sites clean, safe, and well-managed from start to finish.

• Support LogisticsAssist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment as needed.

What You Bring

• 5+ yearsof residential HVAC installation experience

• 2+ yearsin a lead or supervisory role

• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, airflow, and low-voltage wiring

• EPA Type II or Universal Certification

• Proven leadership and crew management skills

• Ability to liftup to 80 lbsand work in attics, basements, and crawl spaces

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
