Job summary

Apollopros in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced HVAC Lab Technician to support testing, evaluation, and development of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This hands-on role focuses on performance testing of water cooled and air cooled chillers and ensuring reliability before deployment to critical facilities.

You will setup instrumentation, monitor data acquisition, and handle calibration in a lab environment with high-power electrical equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years previous experience servicing/maintaining commercial HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Test Execution: Personally execute test runs, set up chillers with instrumentation, and monitor data acquisition systems.
• Electrical Expertise: Work safely with 460V/3ph/60Hz machinery, maintaining EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identify failures in PLCs, VFDs, or instrumentation; coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
• Precision Calibration: Calibrate laboratory equipment for pressure, temperature, flow, and electrical measurements.
• Facility Oversight: Manage support infrastructure including boilers, cooling towers, and high-pressure pumping systems.
• EHS & Compliance: Adhere to 5S and arc flash/lockout tagout procedures to maintain a safe environment.
