Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking a 2nd Shift HVAC Supervisor & Engineering Lab Technician in Charlotte to lead the lab operations, oversee testing of water- and air-cooled chillers, and bridge technical execution with team coordination. The role emphasizes hands-on testing, instrumentation setup, and reliability for mission-critical cooling units.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Mechatronics degree preferred.
• Experience with precise measurement systems (electrical, temperature, pressure, flow).
• Experience with high-voltage or high-power electrical safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and organize a team of technicians to conduct water- and air-cooled chiller testing.
• Personally execute test runs and set up chillers with instrumentation, monitoring data acquisition.
• Manage and monitor support infrastructure including boilers, cooling towers, and pumping systems.
• Identify PLC/instrumentation failures; coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Enforce electrical safety and calibration standards to maintain a zero-incident environment.
