Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a skilled HVAC-R technician within the Maintenance Department to install, repair, and maintain district-wide heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. The role requires strong adherence to safety standards and collaboration with energy management and facilities teams.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and four years of relevant experience, plus Refrigerant Handler certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a current and valid driver's license.
• Must have four years of job-related experience.
• Must possess a current and valid Class 1 and 2 Refrigerant Handlers Certification.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain a Boiler Operator's and Steam Engineer's permit within the first two years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs and services building HVAC-R equipment.
• Participates in refrigerant tracking for EPA/DOT compliance.
• Inspects boilers to meet insurance requirements; performs combustion analysis.
• Inspects and repairs HVAC-R systems, ductwork, dampers, and air distribution equipment.
• Coordinates with Energy Management for controls and Indoor Air Quality plans.
• Mentors apprentices and participates in safety training as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
