Job summary

Daikin Applied seeks a full-time HVAC Journeyman in Pittsburgh, PA to service a range of commercial and industrial equipment. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair systems such as chillers, rooftops, boilers and AHUs, while guiding apprentices on the job.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associates Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred).
• Accepted as Journeyman by the union.
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred).
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred).
• Current first aid / CPR card (preferred).
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality including chillers, fan coils, water source heat pumps, AHUs, rooftops, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
• Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent breakdowns or callbacks.
• Perform intermediate and advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of commercial HVAC equipment.
• Conduct warranty service by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of all commercial HVAC equipment.
• Educate customers on proper use, maintenance schedules, and manuals.
• Lead apprentices through hands-on demonstrations during rebuilds and retrofits.
• Record and report billing, timecards, and other reports promptly.

The rate is subject to the amount outlined in the CBA and could change based on the level offered.
