Job summary

Jim Dorsey & Son, Inc. in Taunton, MA is seeking a seasoned HVAC Installer or capable apprentice to join our family-owned team. You will install residential and light commercial systems, including ductless mini-splits, furnaces, and boilers, with a focus on clean, professional workmanship.

Safety-minded and detail-oriented candidates who can read plans, follow codes, and document work will thrive. A company vehicle is provided and we support ongoing training and advancement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on HVAC installation experience preferred; exceptional apprentices with solid field experience are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with mini-splits, furnaces, air handlers, boilers, and sheet metal.
• EPA Section 608 certification preferred; required for employees performing work that requires the certification.

Responsibilities

• Install furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, central air systems, and ductless mini-splits.
• Install steam and forced-hot-water boilers and associated components.
• Fabricate, modify, and install sheet metal and ductwork.
• Read work orders, plans, specifications, and manufacturer instructions.
• Remove and replace HVAC equipment while protecting customers' homes and property.
• Test completed systems for proper, safe, and efficient operation.
• Explain new system operation and basic maintenance to customers.
• Maintain clean, organized job sites and accurately document completed work.
• Follow applicable codes, permit requirements, manufacturer specifications, and safety procedures.
• Coordinate effectively with helpers, apprentices, service technicians, and project leadership.

We are seeking a seasoned HVAC Installer or a highly capable apprentice ready to take the next step to join our growing team. You will install residential and light commercial HVAC equipment, including ductless mini-splits, furnaces, air handlers, boilers, and sheet metal systems. The right candidate is safety-minded, dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to completing clean, professional installations.

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, installation practices, and jobsite safety.
• Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company insurance requirements required
• EPA Section 608 certification preferred; required for employees performing work that requires the certification.
• Relevant Massachusetts trade licenses are preferred but not required for all candidates. License requirements will depend on the work assigned.
• Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening, as permitted by applicable law
• Professional attitude, dependable attendance, and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to commute to Taunton, Massachusetts.

Pay and Benefits

• Full-time, W-2 employment
• Pay: $30-$55 per hour, based on experience, licenses, and demonstrated ability.
• Company vehicle provided for work-related travel.
• Employer-sponsored health insurance available to eligible full-time employees, with the company covering 50% of the premium.
