Job summary

Trane Technologies in Ashland, VA is seeking an HVAC field installer/service technician to install, commission, diagnose and repair systems at customer sites, using theory, piping, and control knowledge. Travel to sites with occasional overnight stays is expected.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2–5 years in commercial HVAC installation; a valid driver’s license; ability to work overtime; and proficiency with Windows-based software and handheld devices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years of commercial HVAC installation experience preferred.
• Technical school or formal training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, diagnose, repair, and start-up HVAC systems on-site.
• Plan and complete projects on time, coordinating with other trades.
• Interpret drawings and specs to mount and install equipment.
• Maintain inventory and record labor, parts, and costs.
• Provide on-site training and customer support.
• Ensure safety and complete required paperwork.
