Job summary

The Baker Group in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Service Technician - HVAC to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems. This role involves working with live electrical components, piping, welding, soldering, and brazing on equipment and boilers.

You will build strong customer relationships, complete service documentation, and follow safety procedures. A high school diploma or GED and an apprenticeship or equivalent training are required; valid driver's license

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or equivalent training preferred.
Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
Working knowledge of computers and job-related software.

Responsibilities

Read, interpret, and apply electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
Complete required service documentation and paperwork accurately and timely.
Safely work with refrigerants, electrical systems, chemicals, and natural gas per safety procedures.
Operate tools and equipment required to perform tasks safely and effectively.
Climb and work from ladders and navigate stairs to access equipment and complete tasks.
Record and report daily labor hours, equipment usage, and other required information.
