Job summary

Baker Group in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Service Technician Team Leader to guide a 2–8 person service crew in start-up, troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical equipment at client sites. You will mentor technicians, coordinate calls with service coordinators, help with estimates, and ensure safety and quality on each job.

A Local 33 apprenticeship or equivalent, HVAC/electrical/mechanical experience, and strong reading of schematics are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a five-year Local 33 Apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Experience servicing, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
• Working knowledge of computers and job-related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 2–8 service technicians and provide hands-on support.
• Coordinate service calls with coordinators based on skills and needs.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical guidance on service calls.
• Support training, coaching, and annual performance reviews.
• Assist with estimates and quotes for service work and small projects.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to meet goals.
