Job summary

State of Iowa seeks an HVAC Technician to install, maintain, operate, and repair a broad range of heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems across diverse facilities.

The role requires five years of full-time HVAC experience or an education/experience substitution, with a valid driver's license and potential for Class B CDL. Willingness to work weekends and respond to alarms is expected.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time HVAC installation, maintenance, repair and operation experience, or an equivalent education/experience substitution (30 semester hours HVAC per year).
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain Class B commercial driver's license.
• Certifications as required by regulatory authorities for HVAC, boilers, and refrigeration may be required.
• Willingness to work weekends and respond to alarm pager on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, operate, and repair heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems (various technologies).
• Inspect equipment, perform diagnostics, and conduct building automation tests.
• Perform preventative maintenance and prepare boilers for annual inspections; diagnose/repair components.
• Review blueprints to estimate materials, manage inventory, and keep maintenance records.
