Job summary

Prince William County Government in Virginia is seeking a Maintenance and Operations Specialist to join the Facilities Maintenance Team. The HVAC Technician will ensure safe, reliable operation of HVAC, refrigeration, and food service equipment across County facilities.

You will inspect, diagnose, repair, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance, review drawings for code compliance, and coordinate contractor work. A Monday–Friday schedule with on-call rotations applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2 years of related HVAC experience.
• Must be CFC Universal Certified.
• Experience reading HVAC drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and calibrate HVAC and related systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and food service equipment.
• Review project specs and drawings for code compliance.
• Coordinate contractor activities and schedule maintenance work.
• Maintain detailed service records and daily reports.
• Provide technical guidance to other maintenance personnel.
