Job summary

Staff Perm is seeking an Estimator - Take-off Specialist to translate mechanical designs into accurate BOMs and price quotes. You will analyze commercial HVAC plans, identify roof curbs, adapters and accessories, and prepare material lists for customers.

Based in Tallassee, AL, this contract role requires experience with blueprints and take-off software to ensure precise manufacturing inputs and timely quotes for projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in construction estimating, HVAC parts distribution, or sheet metal fabrication.
• Proficient in reading blueprints/construction drafts; experience with take-off software (Bluebeam, PlanSwift) is a major plus.
• Basic understanding of HVAC equipment and commercial roofing terminology.
• Ability to catch small discrepancies in prints that could lead to manufacturing errors.

Responsibilities

• Blueprint Analysis: Take-offs from commercial mechanical and architectural drawings.
• Product Identification: Cross-reference HVAC unit model numbers with curb/adapter footprints.
• Estimating & Quoting: Calculate material requirements and labor for quotes.
• Technical Consultation: Collaborate with sales and production to meet specs.
• Data Entry: Maintain records of quotes and project details in internal systems.
