Job summary

The Building People is seeking an HVAC Engineer 2 in Tucson, AZ to assist in the operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for assigned properties.

The role supports Engineer Tech 1, performs rounds and preventive maintenance, and ensures safety and efficiency. Requires EPA certification and journeyman level HVAC training; a high school diploma or GED is required. Telework is not described; likely on-site.

Qualifications

• Two Years experience (Education/trade schools can substitute for one year experience)
• Possess and maintains a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks
• Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineer 1 and staff as needed.
• Use hand tools, portable metalworking tools, electrical and welding equipment.
• Maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in assigned properties.
• Perform rounds, routine assessments and day-to-day preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Inspect engine room, fan room, cooling towers, pumps, electrical rooms, and backup generators.
• Ensure clean, safe work environment and compliance with safety standards.
