Job summary

The HVAC/EMS Mechanic role at the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs is responsible for responding to and resolving energy management and HVAC issues for 162 Morris Air National Guard spaces in Tucson, under the Physical Plant Supervisor.

The position requires journeyman level experience in large modern HVAC, refrigeration, and related systems, reads blueprints, applies safety rules, and coordinates with vendors and Building Managers.

Qualifications

• Journeyman level experience in industrial HVAC.
• Knowledge of EMS and IAQ concepts.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• EPA 608 HVAC/R Universal certification required.
• CAC eligibility and background checks within one year.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, inspect, repair HVAC and related systems.
• Implement EMS and controls; calibrate and troubleshoot EMS.
• Collaborate with Building Managers and CES staff.
• Ensure operation after repair; document installations.
• Provide after-hours callback response as needed.
