Job summary

Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA) is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic to install and maintain HVAC systems for Arizona Army National Guard facilities. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and work with various HVAC equipment and controls under supervision.

Required are the ability to read blueprints, knowledge of safety procedures for high voltage work, and familiarity with building automation and energy controls.

Qualifications

• Must troubleshoot HVAC equipment and controls.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics to analyze refrigeration malfunctions.
• Knowledge of safety procedures when working with high voltage.
• Knowledge of codes and regulations for HVAC services and building systems.
• Understanding of building automation systems and energy controls.
• Basic knowledge of airflow in buildings.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in heating and cooling equipment and controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical components, boilers, chillers, and related systems.
• Install various HVAC equipment and controls.
• Service HVAC controls, modify wiring/schematics, and install wiring for new/existing equipment.
• Install miscellaneous heating/cooling equipment.
• Procure and stock heating/cooling equipment parts and supplies.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and report to superiors.
