Job summary

City of Pigeon Forge is seeking a skilled HVAC maintenance technician to perform a broad range of HVAC, electrical and refrigeration tasks across city facilities. Duties include diagnosing malfunctions, repairing and replacing components, calibrating controls and installing new systems as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma, thorough knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems, EPA license, and ability to work in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school supplemented with thorough training and experience in the HVAC, electrical and refrigeration trades.
• Thorough knowledge of HVAC, electrical and refrigeration systems and components.
• Possession of a Universal EPA License related to HVAC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and repairs a variety of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment and systems.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electrical malfunctions and installs, replaces and/or repairs damaged equipment and calibrates controls when necessary.
• Installs new HVAC systems and repairs and/or replaces damaged or worn HVAC parts and equipment.
• Inspects and observes the pressure of liquids and vapors utilizing gauges to ensure the efficient operation of units and makes adjustments as necessary.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and/or replaces refrigerant compressors, reversing valves, pressure controls, etc.
