Job summary

City of Temple, TX seeks an experienced HVAC technician to evaluate and maintain heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems at City facilities on a 24/7 on-call basis. Pay is contingent on license, certifications, and experience.

The role requires five years' HVAC/refrigeration experience, EPA 608 certification, TDLR license, valid driver's license, and a willingness to work with contractors and follow safety and codes.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience maintaining HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental standards, and codes.
• Ability to coordinate with contractors and city staff.

Responsibilities

• Install new HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning HVAC/refrigeration equipment.
• Document work in the work order system including time, parts used, repairs or installations, and observations for future repairs.
• Maintain tools inventory and ensure a clean work area and vehicle.
• Coordinate scheduling with outside contractors.
• Follow local and national codes and safety regulations.
• Assist with non-HVAC/refrigeration work orders as needed.
