Job summary

CannonDesign in Buffalo, NY is seeking a student intern to join our multi-disciplinary team under licensed engineer supervision. Projects span educational, healthcare, commercial, and science & technology markets, with potential to evolve into a full-time entry-level role.

Responsibilities include HVAC system design assistance (ductwork, piping, controls), Revit MEP modeling, shop drawing reviews, site visits, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in and working toward a Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit MEP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under guidance of a licensed engineer, may perform uncomplicated designs of ductwork, piping, controls and equipment selection for HVAC systems for building design.
• With supervisory oversight assist in Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings of HVAC systems from Schematic Design to Construction Administration phases.
• Assist in the review and markup of shop drawing submittals.
• Recommend ways to improve process, quality, and coordination efforts.
• May visit job site to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
• May perform other duties as required.
