Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a student intern to join our multi-disciplinary engineering team in Denver. You will work under the supervision of a licensed engineer on HVAC design for educational, healthcare, commercial and science & technology projects, with potential to grow into a full-time role.

Responsibilities include assisting with ductwork and equipment selection, Revit MEP modeling from schematic to construction administration, and reviewing shop drawings.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in and working toward a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit MEP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under guidance of a licensed engineer, may perform uncomplicated designs of ductwork, piping, controls and equipment selection for HVAC systems for building design.
• With supervisory oversight assist in Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings of HVAC systems from Schematic Design to Construction Administration phases.
• Assist in the review and markup of shop drawing submittals.
• Recommend ways to improve process, quality, and coordination efforts.
• May visit job site to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
• May perform other duties as required.
