Job summary

Tighe & Bond is seeking a Staff Engineer 2 to join the MEP Team in Woburn, MA, delivering mechanical HVAC designs for Northeast projects. You will design air and hydronic systems, perform load calculations, and collaborate with disciplines to ensure integrated delivery.

Ideal candidates hold an EIT certification, have 2–5 years of HVAC design experience, and demonstrate strong communication and multitasking abilities in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Building Systems, or Energy Engineering
• 2 to 5 years of relevant mechanical HVAC design experience
• Engineer in Training certification required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical air and hydronic system drawings, details, flow diagrams, and system concepts
• Perform and reviewing heating and cooling load calculations and preparing biddable mechanical design documents using AutoCAD and Revit
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and external partners to ensure integrated project delivery
• Support project managers in maintaining schedules and technical quality
• Conduct field surveys of existing mechanical systems
• Support construction administration efforts, including reviewing equipment submittals, responding to contractor RFIs, and participating in site visits and observations
