Job summary

K Komfort Heating & Cooling seeks an HVAC Design Engineer to lead design, coordination, and execution of HVAC systems for commercial, multifamily, and municipal projects. Based in our Grafton, WI office with coverage across Milwaukee, Madison, and Green Bay metro areas, the role suits a 2–5 year professional eager to expand technical expertise.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver practical, code-compliant designs and support design-build initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• 2–5 years HVAC design experience.
• Current PE certification or desire to obtain PE certification.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, loads, and mechanical codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork and piping layouts.
• Develop construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform energy calculations and ensure code compliance.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other trades.
• Support design-build and plan-spec projects from concept through construction.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical input.
• Review submittals and assist with RFI responses.
• Conduct site visits to verify field conditions and support project teams.
• Contribute to value engineering and cost-optimization efforts.
• Train junior engineers and/or interns.
