Job summary

ECU Corporation in Cincinnati seeks a Design HVAC Engineer to design, develop, and optimize HVAC systems for industrial and critical applications. You will apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics to deliver reliable climate control solutions.

You will create detailed CAD drawings, perform load calculations, and collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and QA to ensure performance and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with 3D modeling and drafting tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC systems and components for new and existing product lines.
• Perform load calculations, airflow analysis, and equipment sizing using industry-standard software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance.
• Conduct prototype testing and validation to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
• Support product lifecycle activities including design reviews, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with industry codes, standards (ASHRAE, ANSI, ISO), and emerging technologies.
• Provide technical support to sales and customer service teams for custom HVAC solutions.
