Alliance Group, Inc. in Essex Junction, VT is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to join our growing team.

This full-time role supports HVAC design, drafting, and project collaboration, with hands-on learning in a dynamic engineering environment. You will create technical drawings using AutoCAD or Revit, assist senior engineers, review plans for codes and energy efficiency, and participate in design meetings to help deliver reliable building systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, building codes, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to create accurate drawings.
• Willingness to learn new tools and techniques in HVAC.
• Knowledge of Build-Ops platform desired
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Must maintain a company vehicle
• U.S. citizenship or a current, valid U.S. work permit is mandatory
• Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and analyzing HVAC systems to meet client needs and standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate system performance and energy efficiency.
• Prepare detailed HVAC layouts and drawings using CAD software.
• Review and revise HVAC plans for accuracy and codes.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects for integration of HVAC systems.
• Participate in design meetings and provide input on system design and improvements.
• Review contractor submittals and coordinate with vendors for materials and equipment.
