Mechanical Resource Group (MRG) is seeking an HVAC Controls Technician to design and implement complex HVAC control systems, using Distech GFX and Niagara, under experienced supervision. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with project teams to translate designs into robust, tested systems.

The role requires 2–3 years of HVAC controls experience or related military background, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to read plans.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years HVAC controls field experience or related military experience.
• Strong controls troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with construction and services processes for HVAC services.
• Experience with third-party control systems and integration platforms.
• Able to read and interpret plans and manuals.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex HVAC control systems using Distech GFX and Niagara, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to develop controls engineers and programmers, reinforcing engineering standards and best practices.
• Develop and review detailed control schematics, risers, and layouts to support accurate installation and commissioning.
• Work closely with project managers, field technicians, and engineers to translate designs into executable systems.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables meet MRG quality standards from design through final system turnover.
• Support field execution and project delivery in coordination with Controls Operations.
• Lead or support high-level system integrations, network strategy, and third-party coordination.
• Provide advanced technical support, customer training, and system walkthroughs to ensure a successful handoff.
